A report was presented by the City Relief Committee at the Port Arthur City Council meeting of October 13, 1914. While we unfortunately do not have the text of this report, it seems to relate to the creation of a new Patriotic Association. Councillors Frederick Urry and Sidney Wilson would serve on the first version of this Association.
Over the years of the war, the Patriotic Association would provide financial support to disadvantaged citizens, in conjunction with the City Relief Committee.
