
This photo shows the 141st Battalion Drum Band, including Henry (Harry) Auld. Harry came from a family in Fort William Ontario and enlisted in 1916. He became a member of the drum band and was later gassed at Passchaendale. He served as a machine gunner during the First World War, survived and went home to work for the Canadian Pacific Railway and marry Alma Mary Bell.

The Gateway to Northwestern Ontario History includes a collection of images contributed by Elmer Auld of Thunder Bay, son of Henry Auld. This collection includes additional images of Henry Auld, Clarence Auld, Hugh Auld, and George Rowe (Elmer’s father-in-law).
