Sergeant James Morrison had a long career with the British Army.  In Canada, he was a member of the Cameron Highlanders in Winnipeg and the 96th Lake Superior Regiment in Port Arthur.  When war broke out, he and two of his sons, James and Alex, left for the front with the 52nd Battalion, leaving the second son, John, home to look after his mother.  James was killed in action at his father’s side.
