Albert E. and Clara Nash lived in the Thunder Bay District from 1895 until 1899. Their eldest son, Albert Evalon Nash was born in Fort William on August 17, 1896 and served in the 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles for 9 months sometime prior to 1917, after which time he moved to the United States. The Nash’s younger son, Orman Almerin Nash was born in Fort William on September 17, 1897. Orman was killed in France on April 28, 1917 while serving in the 8th Battalion of the Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment). Here is his entry in the Canadian Virtual War Memorial .
