In November 2014, a collection of photographs from the Port Arthur Shipbuilding Co. was contributed to this project by Stephen Mikoski of Thunder Bay, Ontario. This collection includes images of trawlers and other vessels built by the Port Arthur Shipbuilding Co. during and for the purposes of the First World War. Port Arthur Shipyard : WWI Production Photos & Plans
This collection contains photos and plans of ships and shells built during the First World War at the Port Arthur Shipyard. The company built Naval Minesweeper Trawlers for the Royal Navy and Freighters for the Imperial Munitions Board (British). Artillery Shells for the Imperial Munitions Board were also manufactured here. This collection has been donated by Dave Benedet of Thunder Bay, ON and is fully accessible through the Gateway to Northwestern Ontario History.
