Nestled in the Shuniah community of Thunder Bay North sits the Knox United Church Shuniah. Established in 1909, it has always been an active neighbourhood church with a strong sense of community. This pride for community and country led 52 of its parishioners to enlist in the Great War. Their bravery and commitment is recognized on the Roll of Honor plaque, which is proudly displayed in the sanctuary of the church.
